Still no news on that score.

To quote the newtype article:

Quote: Sometime after a giant intergalactic scuffle that would've destroyed the entire universe were it not for the courage of ES Force members Éclair and Lumière, new signs of chaos are beginning to emerge

Quote: "The overall setting will remamin the same," says show director Keiji Gotoh, stressing that there will be considerable continuity between the two series. "We haven't decided exactly how many years apart the two shows will be, but the new series will definitely be a true sequel, so expect to see some familiar faces from the ES Force. We're also planning a few very interesting opportunities for cooperation between the old and new characters."

Quote by Brinyou guys know theres already a pilot trailer for the new season right?

I should think so, yes. I have three copies personally. There's also a dozen copies floating around youtube.
Please note that this thread was started 32 weeks ago and the DVD wasn't released till the end of May.

Quote by FiremaceI can't wait to see what Gonzo has to offer...wait...Gonzo ? That will mean a License in a matter of a few episodes!

Sorry, didn't catch this earlier. The studio responsible for the sequel animation is asread, not Gonzo.
FUNimation are aware of the sequel and did express interest a couple of cons ago, but it's early days still since there's not even a Japanese airdate yet.

The first series director's cut movies are another matter - the first DVD is out this month (in Japan). The 3rd and final movie hits Theatre Shinjuku in September followed by the release of the second DVD.

On my old site I used to have a guestbook, as it was better than posting an email address. On later sites I decided to go one better and add a forum, which with guest posting acts kinda like a levelled-up guestbook for all the sites together and was somewhere to post news before I got a blog etc. It got a bit out of hand after than however ^^;;;

Quote by pandemonium91I don't think this is a work of Keiji Gotoh's. Sure, the character is Eclair, from the anime Kiddy Grade, which is Keiji Gotoh's work of art, but I think I came across it a few days ago and this pic isn't drawn by him. You can notice the difference in style if you look at other Eclair pics.

It was printed in Gocky Club, Gotoh's self-published doujin. There is no indication there that it was drawn by anyone other than him, and compare with this which was most definitely drawn by him.

A recent scan that I've not submitted to the gallery since I've not finished cleaning it up yet. I'm posting it here since, knowing me, I may never get around to finishing it of and I'm not sure if it edges over the limit on ecchiness here as well. It's from a poster printed in volume 19 of Gocky Club that was released at the last Comiket (December 06).

If I find anything else of his in my collection that hasn't been uploaded by someone else already I'll add it to this thread later.

I have received the following error twice in a row following (successful) submission of a scan:

"Fatal error: Cannot use object of type Authentication as array in /new/minitokyo/public_html/_gallery/submit.php on line 123"

f

I just thought I'd mention here, since there doesn't seem to be anywhere on the actual page to post comments, that the banner on the gallery page is doubled up in both IE and Firefox.

f

Darn, 8ball beat me to it.

f

Yup, just confirming this problem. Once rated and commented, nothing can be edited, also no way to remove anything from the list. THe edit link takes you to, e.g. http://my.minitokyo.net/animes/73/ which is 404. There's a set of tick boxes on the list, but without a button to click they do nothing.

THe actual error message is:

Quote: Not Found
The requested URL /_my/animes/73/ was not found on this server.

Additionally, a 403 Forbidden error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

All I have is Alvis from the first Last Exile R1. I wanted to buy some Kiddy Grade figures off Funimation but they won't sell them to me as I'm not in North America.

f

EX-Partner did come with Case 08, and it has a series of short stories featuring different ES parterships.
I wouldn't buy anything from Cartoon Passion as not only do they deal in bootlegs they also have bad service.

f

http://www.diamondcomics.com/
They supply manga, osts etc to most of the comic stores in the UK, but don't know if they also have a presence down under.

f

Does Diamond have a presence in Aus?

f

Acetronic cartridge system (think trumped-up Pong)
Dragon 32 (think Tandy Clone)
Amiga 500 (after Dragon went bust and games got scarce)

f

I also thought Gunslinger Girl

f

I'm using Wirbelwind. I think I made it because I wanted to try my hand at something animated, and this was simple to do. And simple is important since making animated gifs is kinda painstaking in photoshop elements.

TO clear your cache (temporary internet files) In internet explorer,
click 'tools'
click 'internet options'
click 'delete files'
click 'ok' (twice)

you can also try forcing a refresh of the page using <ctrl>+<f5>

f

Try using a browser other than internet explorer. Loading your profile in firefox was the only way I could add you to my friends list.

The major downside to mine is that it's a cis/lide scanner - the advantage is small size and bus powering (no external power supply) but the disadvantage is no depth of field so scanning thick books is a pain (the curvature at the spine causes even more of a problem than for normal CCD scanners as it can only focus directly on the glass)

f

Grainyness can be due to the quality of the scanner, the resolution your are scanning in, the actual print dots on the original and the quality of the paper etc.
Darkness can usually be corrected by contrast adjustment, either in your package or in the scanner controls.
Compression artefacts are probably down to the way you are saving - if you are using high jpeg conpression levels to reduce file sizes then artefacts will start to appear.

Personally (and don't take this as the best wayh of doing things, just what gets the best results out of what I have) I scan at the maximum res of my scanner (600dpi) and with the max colour depth but straight away resample to 300dpi (this helps remove some of the screening artefacts). Then I clean the image up, manually removing blemishes with the clone brush and applying some light smoothing to clear up more of the screening and grainyness. I then resize to something more managable and sometimes apply a little unsharp mask before saving as a high quality jpg. If for my own use I'd also adjust the histogram levels.
I use Photoshop Elements and a Canon LIDE scanner.

Looking at the image in your gallery (I just reached level 10 so I can at last) there is a lot of striping - possibly due to the original being printed with a low DPI or interference with your scanner or bleed through from the back of the paper - try scanning at a higher resolution (but not higher than your scanners maximum optical res) and resampling.

The three networked computers in my house are called Yuggoth, Shaggai and Yggdrasil - for no terribly good reason (I've never read Lovecraft but came across Yuggoth and Shaggai through Digimon Tamers. Yggdrasil was in my mind when the new laptop arrived this week as the word popped up in Mai Hime and it seemed to fit with the others)
